Julia Caswell Freund

This series of works was created to communicate the experience of learning the New York subway system, a foreign language in its own right to a native Texan. I created these works by riding subway lines in their entirety, photographing my experiences and creating a collage zine from the photos. Following a self-directed set of rules ( get off at each stop, ride the line in its entirety, take many photos), the works were also performative in its conception.
